01Overview
Point xpntl at a repository with a token that can read it. Open and closed issues come across with their labels.
02Set it up
Open Settings → Import → GitHub.
Enter it as owner/repo, with a GitHub token that has repo read access, and choose the target project.
Preview the issues, untick what you do not want, map the assignees, and import.
03What it does
Everything is selected to begin with. Keep what you want and untick the rest.

The import lists every assignee it found and matches teammates by email, by the name before the @, or by display name. You set the rest before anything is written.
