§ SW.GSWITCH · THE MIGRATION GUIDE

eight steps from the old tracker to a working board.

What to decide, what to press, and what to check afterwards. The screens and labels are the app's own, so you can follow along with it open.

01Decide what to bring

start with what is open.

Bring the open work and whatever recent history people still look things up in. You choose what comes across, and the old tracker stays exactly as it is, readable.

  • ONE TO ONEEach source project fills one xpntl project
  • THE RESTWhat each source brings is on the switch page

Before you start4 things

  • An Admin or Owner role in xpntlImport is an admin screen
  • Pro or UltraImporting is included. Both start with a 30-day trial, no card
  • A read token from the old trackerUsed for the run, not saved with the import
  • An xpntl project to fillClickUp makes its own from the Space

02Run the preview

look before anything is written.

Open Settings → Import and pick your source. Paste the token, choose what to read and the xpntl project to fill, and go on. xpntl lists what it found under Choose issues to import, with everything selected.

  • FILTERBy title, to find one thing
  • DESELECTA row, all of them, or a whole status with one chip
  • WRITTENNothing, until you press Import

03Map people

say who each person becomes.

Above the rows, Map assignees lists every assignee the importer found. A value that equals a teammate's email, the first part of it, or their display name is matched for you. Pick a teammate for anyone else, or leave them unassigned.

Invite your team first, in Settings → Team, so there is someone to map to.

  • YOUR CALLPlace everyone now, or import and assign the rest on the board
  • CLICKUPMatches people by email for you

2 of 3 matched for you. sam.ortiz is yours to place.

04Import

press import.
watch it land.

The button counts what you kept: Import 214 issues. The run happens in the background and the screen follows it. When it ends you get the count of what was imported, and a reason beside anything that was not.

What lands is exactly what you chose in the preview, before anything was written.

05Connect GitHub and chat

wire up the places
work already happens.

Open Settings → Connectors. Connect GitHub and a pull request finds its card by the key in its title, description or branch name. Merging it completes the card. Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams and a channel hears when issues are created, completed or commented on.

  • KEYSEvery imported issue has an xpntl key. Put it in a branch name and the pull request links itself
  • GITHUBIncluded in Pro and Ultra

06Connect your agents

bring the agents
you already use.

For an agent that works as you, add the xpntl endpoint to your client and sign in. In Claude Code that is one command, and the browser opens on first use. Other clients add the same address as a custom connector.

claude mcp add --transport http xpntl https://api.xpntl.ai/mcp

For an agent with its own name on the board, open Settings → Team, add an agent and press Connect. You get a key for that agent, shown once, and the setup command for its harness.

  • SIGN-INOAuth 2.1, or a harness key per agent
  • KEYSFree includes one harness key. Pro and Ultra include as many as you need
Setup for every client →

07Tell your team

say it once, plainly.

People need four facts: when, where to sign in, what changed, and where the old work went. Here is a message to paste and edit. The marked parts are yours to fill in.
